HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR IELTS LISTENING SKILL

INTRODUCTION:

When learning any language, you should also practice all 4 skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. However, listening skills seem to be an obstacle for most English learners, especially when they have to go through the Listening section under the IELTS exam.

1. Find your favorite IELTS Listening topics

Surely, you have always been so passionate about visiting, hearing or discovering about some of the things you are passionate about to the point of forgetting the time and not feeling tired, right? Listening to English with some passionate topics will make the acquisition need to be light and easy. Learning like playing keeps you interested. This is an essential condition for you to maintain the habit of listening to English every day.

Basically, you can find everything you're passionate about to visit and listen to on Youtube or Google, so don't blame it on nothing to see! For example, in terms of music and entertainment, there are: Got Talent, Next Top Model, So You Think You Can Dance; In terms of cooking, there's Master Chief, Hell's Kitchen; About adventure, it is impossible not to mention Amazing Race…

2. Choose Listening - Listening content that is suitable for your level and band score

Listening a lot is really good, but if the content is too difficult, the topic is too intensive, listening a lot only stops at the level of getting used to some sounds, but to understand what the content wants to say is impossible. And if this IELTS Listening study lasts less than a long time, it will cause boredom, even obsession with English, especially for some of you whose English level is still basic.

3. Listening, reading and repeating greatly improves listening skills – listening

This is one of some extremely effective Listening skills that every good English listener knows and applies a lot. This skill is very simple, as the name implies: Listen, read and repeat. First when listening to a content, be determined to listen, do not translate into Vietnamese, understand some of the main ideas yourself.
