Duy Tan University has 4 more Associate Professors in 2022 – The most in the Non-Public sector


Out of a total of 383 candidates announced by the State Council of Professors to be
qualified for the title of Professor, Associate Professor in 2022, Duy Tan University has 4
Associate Professors recognized on this occasion.
Accordingly, Duy Tan University has the most professors in the non-public sector and
the number of teachers awarded the same rank as the University of Danang this year is
4 PGS (with 3 new Associate Professors at the University of Science and Technology).
Da Nang and 1 Associate Professor at Danang University of Education).

Duy Tan University is the university with the most PGSs awarded in the non-public
sector in 2022 with 4 PGSs, namely:
- Assoc.Prof.Dr. Dinh Van Phuc (born 1982) - majoring in Chemistry,
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Huy Thuan (born in 1980) - majoring in Biology,
- Assoc.Prof.Dr. Dao Vinh Ai (born 1977) - Physics,
- Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ho Van Tuyen (born 1987) - Physics major.
With 4 new Associate Professors newly promoted this year, Duy Tan University
currently has 8 professors and 58 associate professors.

The new Associate Professors of Duy Tan University are all very young scientists and
lecturers, but have had many research projects that are highly appreciated and have
great social significance.

In which, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dinh Van Phuc (Chemistry major), is currently a lecturer and
researcher at the Institute of Basic and Applied Sciences (IFAS) of Duy Tan University.
He has published 37 scientific articles, of which 27 scientific articles have been
published in international journals under the list of ISI, SCOPUS. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Dinh
Van Phuc is focusing on a very practical study: "Using grapefruit peel to treat water
contaminated with heavy metals".

Sharing about this research, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Dinh Van Phuc said: Water contaminated
with heavy metals is concentrated mainly in industrial parks or densely populated areas
in big cities, polluting water sources and affecting people's health. With its colorless and
odorless characteristics, the metal is difficult to detect, while the cost/cost to install and
maintain water filtration systems is quite high. Assoc.Prof.Dr. Dinh Van Phuc wishes to
be able to put agricultural by-products into solving the problem of water pollution for
people with reasonable cost and easy-to-use features.

Or Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Huy Thuan (Biology) is a lecturer and researcher at the
Center for Molecular Biology, School of Medicine and Pharmacy (CMP) of Duy Tan
University, has published 21 scientific articles in international journals. under the list of
ISI, SCOPUS. Research direction of Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Huy Thuan is quite special
with his focus on:
- Biosynthesis and biotransformation of secondary compounds by enzymes and
genetically recombinant microorganisms;
- Fermentation and optimization of fermented products;
- Extraction and screening of biologically active secondary compounds on plants and
microorganisms,

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Huy Thuan has received many awards and certificates of merit
such as:
- First prize for scientific report at the National Youth Conference of Medical and
Pharmaceutical Schools organized by the Ministry of Health at the Military Medical
Academy in 2014;
- Certificate of Merit from the Central Youth Union;
- ...

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ho Van Tuyen (physician) has been many times approved by the
Chairman of the City People's Committee. Da Nang awarded the Certificate of Merit for
having excellent scientific articles published in prestigious scientific journals. He also
received the Certificate of Merit for the Third Prize for Scientific Research in the
academic year 2016-2017 awarded by the Rector of Duy Tan University. He is currently
working at the Institute of Research and Development of High Technology (IRD -

Institute of Research & Development) of Duy Tan University. With research related to
rare earths and related issues, and many other research directions, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ho
Van Tuyen has published 45 scientific articles, of which 30 are published in prestigious
international journals in the list of ISI, SCOPUS.
