SOME COMMENTS AND NOTES FOR THE VSTEP SPEAKING TEST (MS BAO YEN)

PART 1: SOCIAL INTERACTION

In this section the candidate can talk about one or both of the topics given.

Choose the topic you are more confident with and answer all three questions fully.

When answering, pay attention to expand, not just encapsulate in one sentence.

Ideally, for each question, answer with MINIMUM three.

PART 2: SOLUTION DISCUSSION

In this part, the candidate chooses the best solution and explains why. Things need to notice:

It should be clearly stated which solution is chosen in the first place.

Present at least 02 reasons why a certain solution is best, with explanations or examples.

REMEMBER to present the reasons why not choose the remaining 02 solutions. Just keep it short.

PART 3: TOPIC DEVELOPMENT

In this section, the candidate gives a short talk on the given topic using a mind-map. The following should be noted:

Do NOT answer the question right away because the questions given are follow-up, that is, only answer after developing the talk.

DO look at the mind map given and presented on the topic, remembering that this is the central part.

You can use your own suggestions and/or ideas. It is NOT necessary to say all 3 ideas given. It is NOT necessary to have your own ideas.
