7 FIELDS OF VIETNAMESE UNIVERSITIES IN THE WORLD'S TOP IN 2022 (Ms Trang)

(QNO) - Times Higher Education (THE, based in the UK) has just announced the results of the World University Rankings by Subject in 2022.

Out of a total of 11 areas ranked by THE in 2022, Vietnamese higher education institutions are present in 7 areas.

In the field of Clinical & Health, Vietnam's only representative is Duy Tan University (top 176-200 in the world), this is the highest ranking of Vietnam in this ranking.

In the field of Life Sciences, there are 2 representatives: Ton Duc Thang University (top 251 - 300) and Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (top 601 - 800).

In the field of Economics & Business, there are 2 representatives: Ton Duc Thang University (top 201 - 250) and Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (top 601+).

In the field of Social Sciences, for the first time, Vietnam has 3 representatives: Ton Duc Thang University (top 251 - 300), Vietnam National University, Hanoi (top 501 - 600) and Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (top 601+).

In the field of Computer Science, Duy Tan University and Ton Duc Thang University were ranked at the same level (top 251 - 300); Hanoi University of Science and Technology has dropped from 501-600 in 2021 to 601-800, tied with Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City National University.

In the field of Basic Science, Duy Tan University and Ton Duc Thang University were tied (top 201-250), Vietnam National University Hanoi (top 601-800), Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City and the University of Hanoi Polytechnic has the same rank (top 801 - 1,000).

In the field of Engineering and Technology, Duy Tan University and Ton Duc Thang University shared high rankings (top 251 - 300), while Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City. Minh are all relegated in this field.

Currently, there are no ranking results for the field of Arts & Humanities. The fields of Law, Education, Psychology, Vietnam have not been represented in THE ranking.

THE has 5 “pillars” for assessment: teaching (learning environment); research (volume, income and reputation); scientific citations; international outlook (of staff, students and fellows); industry income.

In 2022, there are 1,662 educational institutions in the world ranked by THE, an increase of 136 institutions compared to 2021, becoming the largest and most diverse university ranking in the world today. This is also the year that Vietnam has many universities ranked by THE 2022 and many fields in the top of the world so far.
